We join ‘Rampage’ as he battles sparring partners and court cases ahead of his scheduled UFC return against Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186

FEBRUARY 2015

TUESDAY 17TH

The former UFC light heavyweight champion takes time out of his own training to give some kickboxing pointers to his friend, model Franciele Medeiros. “This lil tiny girl loves kickboxing! Be careful @franciele_medeiros it can be addicting,” Quinton writes online.

THURSDAY 19TH

Rampage is looking quick on the pads when he posts a video of himself hitting the mitts with new boxing coach Bobby Rimmer, famed for working with Ricky Hatton. “I’m too fast for him,” howls Jackson.

TUESDAY 24TH

Continuing his UFC 186 fight camp at the Rampage Family Fitness facility in Laguna Hills, California, Quinton trains with coach Bobby and 6-1 British welterweight Gavin Sterritt. “Training camp is going as planned still about 9 weeks out and I’m getting stronger and faster everyday,” he posts.

FRIDAY 27TH

After another tough day of training with Rimmer, Sterritt and middleweight Sebastian Lopez, Rampage watches his friend and training partner Cheick Kongo take on his former opponent ‘King Mo’ Lawal at Bellator 134. After Kongo loses a close split decision, Rampage rages on Twitter: “King Mo is a lil bitch, don’t know why any promoter will pay him to fight. Keep your head up Kongo I know how it is 2 fight a coward.”

MONDAY 2ND

Quinton’s fight camp is interrupted by some unpleasant news. Bellator MMA, Jackson’s ‘former’ employers, announce they’re taking legal action against him for an alleged breach of contract. According to Bellator, “Jackson, who has completed only three fights of his exclusive six-fight contract with Bellator, is barred by contract from fighting for any promoter other than Bellator.”

TUESDAY 3RD

Jackson fires back at Bellator MMA, tweeting: “Funny how bellator is promoting they have an injunction against me. I never received any paperwork. There is no injunction! Just jokes!”

WEDNESDAY 4TH

Unconcerned about the Bellator legal threat, Jackson purrs about his next opponent Fabio Maldonado: “I’m thinking this is a great match up for me... For once I’ll get a guy that loves stand up as much as me. I’m sure it’s gonna be a KO! I’m going for the 1st round #UFC”
