Chris Leben penning autobiography

Chris Leben, one of the UFC’s most outlandish and colorful former fighters is looking for a publisher to pick up his life story after revealing he’s been working on a warts-and-all autobiography for the past six months.

The TUF season 1 star and fan favorite says his story will read like a how-not-to guide to conducting a professional career in combat sports. He added it would include tales like his pre-Brian Stann weigh-in drinking binge in Las Vegas that saw him get arrested, bribe a security guard for his freedom and then wake up in a pool of his own vomit when he should have been at the pre-fight photo shoot.

‘The Crippler’, now head coach at Victory MMA in San Diego, reveals: “The book is definitely coming along. I’ve yet to find a great publisher, but I’m getting it all down on paper. It will be a ‘what not to do if you’re going to have an MMA career.’”

Bisping vs. Shogun at 195 pounds?

Long-time UFC middleweight Michael Bisping has confirmed his interest in a catchweight bout against former UFC and Pride champion Mauricio Rua.

‘Shogun’s manager, Eduardo Alonso, told Brazilian outlet PVT that the 33-year-old might be heading to 185lbs, but he would first like his client to have a test fight at 195lbs with Bisping as the opponent.

Never one to back down from a fight, Bisping, who faces CB Dollaway in his next outing at UFC 186, tweeted his response: “I hear Shogun’s manager said Shogun is interested in a fight with me at a catchweight of 195lbs. After my fight coming up, I’m in.”

Lesnar fears cast doubt over UFC return

Brock Lesnar’s return to the UFC may not be as close as some fans may think, according to WWE commentator Jim Ross. Rumors regarding the former UFC heavyweight champion returning to the Octagon this year surround the fact his WWE contract is due to expire at the end of the month, following Wrestlemania 31 on March 29th.

However, Ross believes it’s growing increasingly likely Lesnar will remain in the wrestling ring amidst concerns for his long-term health, specifically in relation to concussions.

Former WWE star CM Punk is currently preparing for his UFC debut and is expected to generate big numbers despite never before competing in MMA. And Brock was once a 1 million+ PPV guarantee for the UFC.

Cris Cyborg in UFC contract talks

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino held talks with UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, which reignited buzz about a possible fight with Ronda Rousey.

The 29-year-old had a long-running verbal feud with UFC president Dana White that could’ve hurt her chances of signing with the promotion. However, Fertitta recently told ESPN the UFC had “an interest” in securing her signature, but a major obstacle is whether she can make the 135lb limit because the UFC doesn’t have a women’s 145lb division.
