FO follows one of the UFC’s most feared contenders through his holiday-season training camp leading up to UFC 182

DECEMBER 2014

MONDAY 8TH

It’s another tough day of training at American Top Team for Hector Lombard as he’s joined by a team of tough guys including Yoel Romero and recently-crowned UFC welterweight champ Robbie Lawler. “The champ is here,” tweets Hector.

SUNDAY 11TH

The former Bellator middleweight champ takes a break from his intense training to attend his new sponsors 4ever Young Anti-Aging’s Holiday Party at Liquivita Lounge in Coconut Creek, Florida.

SATURDAY 17TH

With his January 3rd fight against wily MMA veteran Josh Burkman getting ever-closer, Hector guests on the Gross Point Blank podcast to give his thoughts on his upcoming bout and more.

TUESDAY 20TH

Lombard appears on CBS12 News in a special segment in which he discusses how 4ever Young Anti-Aging has helped to keep his 36-year-old body healthy. He also answers questions about his current standing in the 170lb weight class. “I want to show that I’m the best in my weight class,” says the former Olympian. “I’m the fastest, I’m the strongest and I’m the most talented guy.”

WEDNESDAY 24TH

It’s Christmas Eve and the top-10 UFC welterweight contender receives an early present from HeadBlade, manufacturers of head-shaving equipment – the ideal gift for a pro fighter with a smooth dome.

SATURDAY 27TH

After enjoying Christmas at home, Hector leaves his home state of Florida for the bright lights of Las Vegas, where he will face Burkman at UFC 182.

FRIDAY 2ND

It’s the day before the fight, which can mean only one thing: it’s time for the athletes to make weight. After shedding the last few pounds, Lombard hits the scale at 170.5lb and his opponent hits the non-championship welterweight limit of 171lb.

SATURDAY 3RD

Hector welcomes Burkman back to the Octagon after a six-year absence and is unsurprisingly a considerable favorite. His opponent looks for the upset and a triumphant return with a counter-punching strategy, but ‘Showeather’ has too much for him. He uses superior athleticism and aggression to secure a comfortable unanimous-decision win.
