Four-time World Jiu-Jitsu Championships gold medal winner and UFC vet Vinny Magalhaes shares his best no-gi submissions aided by Syndicate MMA’s Casey Milliken
1. Vinny starts off in the mount position with Casey raising both arms to his chest to defend against any potential armbar attempts.
2. Instead of going for the armbar, Vinny grabs Casey’s left wrist with his left hand and pushes it down to the mat. He then slides his right arm underneath Casey’s bicep and grabs his own wrist.
3. Casey attempts to block the Americana attempt by turning into the submission, grabbing his free hand and pulling it off the mat.
4. Instead of trying to force Casey’s wrist back onto the mat, Vinny uses Casey’s momentum and drags his arm to the other side of the mat.
5. Vinny pushes his right knee up towards Casey’s head and places his left calf under Casey’s right arm on the far side, almost like an S-mount set-up.
6. Vinny leans forward and throws his right leg over Casey’s head, before falling backwards and breaking Casey’s grip to finish with a regular armbar submission.
