You could say Cub (Swanson) is the number-one contender and (the fight between) him and Frankie (Edgar) could be for the number-one contender spot. Cub couldn’t finish Dustin (Poirier). For me to go out there and put Dustin away in one round and make it look easy like I did, what else can I do? Who else can they give me other than the champion? Other than the title shot? I believe they will give it to me. I don’t think they want to hold me back either. I think they want me to get that shot and get that gold, and I will go and get it.

I’m not surprised (McGregor) is asking for a title shot, for me it’s normal. But I really only heard of him this year. Since he has joined the UFC he has talked and said he is already the king. That’s unusual. But some fighters, like him, promote themselves by talking. I don’t pick opponents, it is the UFC that indicates the adversary for me. I am sure he’ll have his chance provided he continues winning. And his presence in my division is very good for all athletes, since he talks so much but also fights well. It draws the attention from the media. He’s young and doesn’t need to hurry. His time will come!
