Scott (black gi) has Vinny in a tight arm triangle choke. To defend the choke Magalhaes needs space so he drives his right knee up towards him and hooks his hands underneath.

Vinny kicks back down with the leg to create the space he needs. Vinny then unlocks his hands, pushes Scott’s head away with his right elbow and rolls towards his left.
Note: Try not to elbow your opponent in the back of the head as that’s a disqualification. Just give it enough of a nudge so that you’re able to make room to roll away. Also, this move needs to be done quickly so you don’t give your opponent time to adjust.

While rolling away, Vinny uses his right hand to take control of Scott’s left arm. He then slides his left arm under his body and begins to grab onto Scott’s right leg.

With Scott’s body under control, Vinny explodes from underneath Scott’s body and begins to take his back.
