I purchased my first copy of Fighters Only (Daniel Cormier cover issue) a few days ago. I have become a big fan of MMA in the past few years. I liked your magazine very much.
One thing that I thought was missing, was a ranking, 1–10 of the fighters in their respective weight divisions. I like to know where fighters are listed when I watch them on TV. Just my opinion. Thanks.

Thanks very much for your email, Jim. First, we’re very pleased to hear even men into their 80th decade of life are following mixed martial arts, and enjoying Fighters Only. Regarding your suggestion of a Fighters Only ranking, save for a few of our very early issues, we’ve made an effort to steer clear of putting our name to grading fighters. Between the politics and the fast-moving nature of the sport not complementing our schedule of 13 issues a year, it’s unlikely to be something we’ll get involved with again – but you never know.
When you watch the UFC on TV keep an eye out for the onscreen graphics. If a fighter is ranked in the UFC’s official top-15 list for each weight class they’ll show a ‘#3’, for example, by their name. If there’s no number, they’re not ranked. Hopefully that will help you gauge who you’re watching.
POUR ONE OUT FOR US
Just thought I’d like to tell you guys of the hellish 12 months I’ve had. It’s been over a full year since I lost my full Fighters Only collection.
A year ago in August the wife thought she would have a few runs to the dump with her annual spring clean. My world came crashing down that Saturday evening when herself informed me that she got rid of all the (old) magazines that were in the cupboard.
To say I hit the roof was a bit of an understatement. I tore up her gossip magazine and attempted a flying triangle at her. So in honor of that sad passing and what was a TUF year (bad pun), I opened my 18-year-old Laphroaig (Scotch whisky) to mark the wonderful years we had together, and sat down with the Daniel Cormier cover issue.
Keep up the good work, guys. Amazing mag.
