We travel from China to Canada with perhaps MMA’s busiest athlete, fighter, father, coach and action movie star

NOVEMBER 2013

MONDAY 18TH

After weeks of serving as mentor on the first-ever season of The Ultimate Fighter: China, Le enjoys his last night in the birthplace of traditional martial arts, relaxing with coffee-flavored ice cream smothered in melted chocolate.

TUESDAY 19TH

Le wakes up to the same, yet nevertheless breathtaking, view which he has become accustomed to during his stay in the East. The former Strikforce champ has one last walk through the busy streets before journeying back home to San Jose, California.

THURSDAY 21ST

The 41-year-old mixed martial artist resumes his normal coaching duties at his Universal Strength Headquarters facility. Le posts a short video online of his young students practicing their jump-spin kicks.

SATURDAY 23RD

In an effort to cleanse his system after living on a diet high in MSG during his stay in China, Le gets back to the healthy lifestyle expected of elite athletes such as himself and breaks out the alkaline water and detoxifiers.

SUNDAY 24TH

Le is used to facing formidable foes in the cage and on movie sets, but today he tweets a photo that would chill the blood of even the hardiest warrior – himself holding four giant killer wasps, which have reportedly killed over 42 people in China in recent months.

THURSDAY 28TH

Although he’s a proven fighter and action movie star, today Le plays the role of family man and spends time with his brood on Thanksgiving.

FRIDAY 29TH

After a full day of turkey, stuffing and general Thanksgiving goodness, Le decides he needs to work off all the extra calories he absorbed yesterday with an intense cardio session on the VersaClimber.

DECEMBER 2013

SUNDAY 1ST

Now in snowy Canada, the country-hopping Viatnemese-American spends the first half of his day nursing a hangover – the aftermath of a night out with none other than UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre. To make amends he then has a particularly rough training session later in the day with St Pierre and friend Scott Sheeley.

WEDNESDAY 4TH

Le posts a video online of some behind-the-scenes sparring with martial arts movie

legend Jean-Claude Van Damme on the set of 2012’s Dragon Eyes. Later that evening Le manages to catch up on the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead. “That was a blood bath! Makes me want to do a zombie movie even more!” he tweets.
