SEPTEMBER 2013

THURSDAY 19TH

Back from travels in The Golden State, Georges St Pierre resumes regular training at his Tristar Gym base in Montreal, Canada. Along with his usual elite-level team of fighters and coaches, including Rory MacDonald and head coach Firas Zahabi, the group welcomes newcomer Rick Story, who’s also a UFC welterweight like Georges and Rory.


SATURDAY 21ST

It’s an important night for the Tristar team in Georges’ homeland as UFC 165 takes place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The 170lb champ is in attendance to support his teammate Francis Carmont, who goes on to win his fight against Costa Philippou via unanimous decision. Carmont later posts online: “Special thank you to GSP for taking time out of his training camp to help a fellow teammate and friend!”


THURSDAY 26TH

Announces a new association with Canadian boots brand Royer. A brand-new TV ad starring GSP is released a part of the new deal.



MONDAY 30TH

It’s another day of training at Tristar for St Pierre, Rory MacDonald and Rick Story as they’re all preparing for fights at the upcoming UFC 167 event in Las Vegas on November 16th. Classes are headed by BJJ coach John Danaher, who has traveled specially from his base in New York to help the fighters during their training camps.


OCTOBER 2013

Monday 7TH

The Tristar guys get a break from tradition as they’re visited by Tiger Muay Thai members Master Yod and former Muay Thai champ Lamsongkram Chuwattana. They help Georges greatly with his striking, further readying him for his fight against KO specialist Johny Hendricks.


Wednesday 9TH

There’s no time for rest in the life of the UFC champion, especially with his ninth consecutive title defense fast approaching, as GSP spends the day training with Canadian boxing coach Stephan Larouche at Renan St Juste Boxing Club.

 

Sunday 13TH

It’s another challenging day of sparring for ‘Rush’ at Tristar with a host of tough partners, including UFC athletes Michael Johnson and Rick Story.

 

Wednesday 16TH

The three-time Canadian Athlete of the Year announces that he will be attending the season home opener of professional lacrosse team Edmonton Rush at the beginning of next year. “To reach out to athletes with similar vision of passion and achieving excellence within their sport is a great opportunity for me,” states GSP.

 

Thursday 17TH

BJJ is the order of the day as Georges sharpens his black belt-level submission skills with the Tristar team, headed by John Danaher.
