MARCH 2014

FRIDAY 7TH

Jon kicks off another day of training by running the dunes in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with coach Greg Jackson and teammates, including Cub Swanson, Erik Perez and Clay Guida. He ends the exhausting cardio session with partner carries and goes for dinner in the evening with the rest of the Jackson-Winkeljohn team.

SATURDAY 8TH

Jones unwinds by watching the UFC fights being broadcast from the O2 Arena in London. In response to Alexander Gustafsson calling him out after his dominant win in the main event, ‘Bones’ takes to Twitter. “Why not give the winner of Alexander and DC the winner of myself and Glover??” tweets the champ.

SUNDAY 9TH

The UFC’s top 205lb’er takes some time away from training to do a photo shoot for the ‘Show Your Soft Side’ campaign which works to combat animal abuse. He later takes a trip to a Whole Foods store. “This place is like heaven on earth for clean eaters,” Jon posts online.

THURSDAY 13TH

Ever the tough competitor, Jones continues to grind through his latest training camp. This evening is wrestling practice with coach Israel Martinez and Jon fuels his body with a meal of kale, grape tomatoes and grilled chicken before hitting the mats. “It’s clear @IzzyStyle has taken his coaching to the next level,” Jones tweets about his MMA wrestling mentor.

MONDAY 17TH

Green is the color of the day for Jon Jones on this St Patrick’s Day 2014. The UFC champ dons a pair of green trainers and enjoys a lunch of tuna and plenty of green veggies before heading to the gym for another training session.

WEDNESDAY 19TH

Today is Jon’s three-year anniversary of being UFC light heavyweight champion. Bones gets a custom Damage Control mouthguard fitted and later checks his weight after training, coming in at a very lean 216lb with more than a month to go before his UFC 172 bout against Glover Teixeira. “I’m taking my fiancée out and am eating a gigantic dinner,” he tweets.

FRIDAY 21ST

A very excited Jon Jones picks up his Ford Roush Raptor truck from Ultimate Cars & Trucks, which has modified the fighter’s monstrous machine with a four-inch lift, 18-inch rims and 37-inch tires. Then the 19-1 205lb’er takes his pimped-out ride to the gym for another tough session.
