The UFC welterweight hot prospect can’t be the only fighter who’d like a ‘Rukus’ with Justin Bieber.

CARS

What was the first car you owned and how much did it cost?

“The first car I owned was a 1984 Subaru station wagon. It was a four-gear stick shift which was pretty cool. I got some blue duct tape and put racing stripes on it. At the time I thought it was pretty cool but I realize now it looked terrible.”

What car do you own now?

“Right now, I own a 2009 black Mustang I got from a buddy of mine. I bought that car after I fought Mike Rhodes at RFA 7 (March 2013) and it’s a pretty nice ride, even if I say so myself. I got a great deal on it.”

If you could own any car in the world, what would it be?

“I really don’t need anything too special but a Jeep SRT would be great, especially for the type of weather we have here in Denver, Colorado. There’s a lot of snow up here and that could help quite a bit.”

If you could put any gadget possible in your car, what would it be?

“Oh, man, everyone wants a ridiculous sound system but I’d really like something that could sanitize my gym gear so all those funky smells are gone before I get in the gym each day (laughs).”

FLICKS

What type of movies are you into?

“You know, I’m actually a big movie fan. That’s something my dad and I do a lot during our spare time, so I see pretty much all the films that are released. That Matt Damon movie Elysium was sweet. I thought it was great. It was so good I watched it on IMAX 3D twice! It was $15 each time but totally worth it.”

If someone made a movie about your life, who would you like to play you?

“That’s a pretty hard question. I’d like to have an actor who’s kind of light-hearted but not too goofy (laughs). There are just too many good actors out there these days to choose from.”

What did you think of the last movie you watched?

“Since I’ve been injured I’ve had a chance to watch a bunch of films, but I’ve watched so many that they’re all starting to blend together (laughs).”

If you could punch any actor in the face, which one would it be?

“I don’t think there are many actors I’d punch in the face, but I’d definitely punch Justin Bieber. I think he’s done some acting in his time, if you can call it that. I think he’s a very disrespectful punk and pretty much garbage. Someone needs to smack him around a little bit.”

Well, he’s been seen at a number of UFC events so maybe you’ll get your chance.

“You know, I don’t know if punching him would be the best idea. I’d probably leg kick him really hard though. Or maybe a nice clinch knee to his ribs then hold him on the way down and tell him that everything is going to be OK (laughs).”

TV

What TV shows have you been watching lately?

“I’ve really been into American Horror Story of late. I think that’s a pretty cool show. I don’t really watch too much TV, though.”

We saw your costume for last year’s Halloween and it was pretty scary. Would you like to be in something like American Horror Story?

“Honestly, I’d love to be in anything which involves horror, special effects and make-up. I think that would be really fun. I used to be in the club scene for a while and I learned how to spin fire there so I’ve always been into costumes and stuff like that.”

STYLE

You seem like a dude who likes to dress well. What type of clothing do you like?

“I’m a big fan of Jack & Jones jeans and I’m also a fan of G-Star clothing too. I’m actually more like a T-shirt and hoodie kind of guy. I’m also a big fan of Syc Fuk clothing. It makes custom hoodies that are super nice and the company has designer-made a hoodie for me that says ‘Rukus’ with a sugar skull on the back. The clothes are really dope.”

MUSIC

What type of music are you into?

“I really like electronic music. Right now I’m a big fan of trap and house music. Those two are definitely my favorite genres to listen to.”

Given you’re a fan of trap music, we bet you liked HarlemShake by Baauer

“I really liked that song, I definitely got down to it. I like to hit the clubs and have fun and that song was always in the clubs so I definitely enjoyed it. I didn’t even think it got old after a while because the beat was pretty good.”

Ever tried to be a DJ or produce music yourself?

“I’ve got a good ear for music but I’m definitely not a musician (laughs). I don’t have that much time to dedicate myself to anything else other than MMA.”

As trap music isn’t really mainstream, how do you find your music?

“I like to use SoundCloud to find a lot of the music I listen to. It always has good artists on there and there’s a lot of good trap music on the site too. I have playlists on my SoundCloud page, so if anyone wants to check out some good music they can go to soundcloud.com/brandon-thatch. I’ve created some playlists with my favorite tracks.”
