The UFC fan favorite retains her award after another busy year in 2013.

Winning awards is one thing, but bagging gongs as a result of fans’ independent votes is something completely different, and “cooler,” according to now two-time ‘Ringcard Girl of the Year’ Brittney Palmer.

The UFC lovely, who walks the boards at all UFC North American events and often internationally, first won this title last year, but was overcome with emotion this time around.

“I was totally shocked to win Ringcard Girl of the Year in 2012” she tells FO, “so to win it again for 2013 was perhaps a little more emotional. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still totally cool. But I think I appreciate it even more this time around.”

Brittney became a fan favorite during her days with the WEC and, along with the likes of Urijah Faber and José Aldo, her transition to the UFC following the two promos’ merger simply gave her an even bigger opportunity to catch the eye of MMA fans.

Last year she became the first ringcard girl other than UFC teammate Arianny Celeste to pick up this award, and so to win it a second time is no mean feat. Brittney, who was also named in the Maxim Top 100 for 2013, adds: “Arianny is beautiful and I’ll bet the voting must have been very close for me to have won this again.

“It’s just really humbling to think that fans go online, register and then vote for you. It makes this award so special that it’s the fans’ vote and they get the chance to choose who they want rewarded.

“With that in mind, I’d like to thank everyone who voted and urge them to follow me on social media and to always come up to me and say ‘Hi’ should we ever get the chance to meet at a UFC event.”
