What five things must you have in your fridge?

“First and foremost I need my oatmeal in there. I also need raw, organic honey; that’s a must. Then I’d go with goji berries, chia seeds and tonka bites. Those tonka bites are amazing.”

Do you have a cheat meal during your training camp?

“I don’t really have a specific cheat meal, but once a week I’ll eat whatever I want. But it’s always healthy, and to be honest I’m always eating, even the day of the weight cut. I drink a cup of coffee the morning of it, then I eat and drink the night before too. My cornermen were kind of freaking out because they’d never been with me before and didn’t know my routine (laughs). They were shocked that I made the weight with no trouble. It was effortless.”

Do you keep anything besides from the usual in your freezer?

“Honestly, I don’t do too many frozen foods. One thing I put in there recently is some chocolate cocoa nut milk ice cream. That was really good. I suppose you could consider that a cheat meal.”

What’s your favorite dessert?

“I like red pudding. Especially with ice cream. I had some recently and it was delicious.”

What’s your favorite bottled sauce?

“I really like this sauce called Aardvark hot sauce. It’s a habanero hot sauce that’s made here in Oregon. It’s super good and I would advise anyone to buy it online if they’re not from Oregon.”

What is your signature dish?

“It would have to be oatmeal, mixed with goji berries and cashews. Then I’d add a little extra flax seed, chia seeds, hemp seeds. And of course I’d add a dollop of raw, organic honey on top. I’ll even cut up an apple or a banana and put it in there too. It’s the best way to start the day.”

What meal do you have after the weigh-ins?

“After the weigh-ins I like to eat gnocchi, which is a potato pasta. That’s my favorite.”

What nationality of food is your favorite?

“I’d probably say Japanese if I’m honest. I took my girlfriend to a place called Bamboo Sushi and it’s the first high-end restaurant I’ve ever been to. I spent $100 and didn’t even bat an eyelid.”

If you could only have three meals for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“I’d have to go with some sort of avocado salad, with some citrus on it so I don’t die of scurvy. I’d go with a kale salad with some nuts in there too because you can get a lot out of those. I’d finish it off with some lasagne as that’s some of the tastiest food I’ve ever had.”
