Is the ‘UFC mecca’ crown passing back from Brazil to Canada? Both countries hosted UFC events in June, Brazil’s venue in Fortaleza for UFC on Fuel TV 10 was filled 63% to capacity. UFC 161 in Winnipeg, Canada, was about 90% full.

As if 42-year-old UFC light heavyweight Dan Henderson needed any reminding he was getting on a bit, his UFC 161 decision loss to Rashad Evans marked 16 years to the day since his MMA debut. UFC 161 was June 15th 2013, the 1997 Brazil Open was June 15th 1997.

UFC lightweight Sam Stout is a proven entertainer; he earned his sixth ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus after a three-round guillotine loss to James Krause at UFC 161. Stout earned his first way back in 2007 at UFC Fight Night 10.

The UFC’s next video game, EA Sports UFC, was recently shown off at the E3 computer and video games trade fair in LA. The likenesses of the fighters’ heads fans saw in the footage were captured using 18 high-definition cameras.

UFC on Fuel TV 10, held in Fortaleza, Brazil, saw a stunning 83% of the 12 bouts end before the final bell. There were eight submission finishes, a TKO and a clean KO.

At World Series of Fighting 3 in June, former UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch suffered a loss due to a submission for the first time since his debut, 31 fights ago. Fellow UFC vet Josh Burkman choked Fitch unconscious in a mere 41 seconds in their Las Vegas rematch.
