Renzo Gracie making UFC return in 2013?

It is rumored legendary 45-year-old fighter and coach Renzo Gracie is making his return to the UFC’s Octagon in 2013. Coach to UFC fighters such as former lightweight title-holder Frankie Edgar, the former Rings, Pride and IFL veteran’s last appearance was also his UFC debut: a losing effort against Matt Hughes in Abu Dhabi in 2010. 

Anderson Silva is taking acting lessons

A source close to the camp of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has confirmed to Fighters Only the pound-for-pound king is taking acting lessons. Shortly after his UFC 153 TKO win over Stephan Bonnar in August, the Brazilian apparently flew to Los Angeles to begin classes. It coincides with Silva stating to Brazilian media he wants to open a gym in the Californian city. Could Silva be setting up base for an action movie career?

UFC stadium show possible for late spring, early summer

Rumors are rife the UFC has booked the 100,000-capacity Cowboys Stadium in Texas, for a late spring, early summer mega card. UFC president Dana White has long desired to put on an event at the Arlington venue, however, it’s common for promoters to have a provisional reservation, called a ‘first pencil’, on a date at a venue and that date later be scratched. Is this one of those times?

Former Pride execs poised to return to MMA business

There are reports coming from Japan the executives behind once-dominant and wildly popular promotion Pride FC could be planning to launch a new MMA venture in the near future. When the UFC’s parent company bought out the promotion in 2007, the Pride officials reportedly agreed not to start a competitor company for five years after Pride FC formally ceased activity – an agreement which will soon expire.
