AUGUST 2013


TUESDAY 13th  

Glover spends the day training with Caio Magalhaes, Dan Cramer and Brazilian MMA veteran Pedro Rizzo as part of his preparation for his upcoming UFC Fight Night main event bout against skilled wrestler Ryan Bader.





WEDNESDAY 14th

Showing how the pros make weight, Glover first tweets about his breakfast: a healthy omelet packed with chicken, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes. Then posts a picture of his dinner, a giant barbecue turkey leg.



SATURDAY 17th

Teixeira takes time out from his regular training schedule as Zuffa’s camera crew drop in on the Brazilian light heavyweight at his gym to get some pre-fight interview and workout footage.



TUESDAY 20th

After completing five rounds of tough sparring, he hangs out with MMA Elite CEO Alden Halpern. Then, after training, the UFC 205lb star heads to the beach and spends a little time with friends Caio Magalhaes and former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.



WEDNESDAY 21st

Glover takes a break from training by playing poker with pals.


WEDNESDAY 28th 

One week before he’s set to face off against Bader inside the Octagon, the Brazilian leaves his home in the US for native shores where the event is being held at the Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte.


SATURDAY 31st

After a grueling day of training back in his home state alongside ‘Bigfoot’ Silva, the 21-2 puncher spends his evening watching UFC 164 live from Milwaukee. 



SEPTEMBER 2013


MONDAY 2nd

Glover, Bigfoot and Machida take time out from UFC commitments to pose for pictures with Vasco de Gamma soccer team in Rio de Janeiro. Later that day, Glover also meets opponent Ryan Bader for their final fight week press conference in Brazilian capital.


TUESDAY 3rd

Both Glover and his opponent have no problem making weight prior to their UFC light heavyweight title eliminator.


WEDNESDAY 4th

Teixeira and Bader walk out in front of over 5,000 fans for their UFC Fight Night main event bout. ‘Darth’ Bader comes out aggressively and stuns Teixeira with strikes early. However, Glover is able to counter, landing a right-left combo, then following up on the ground for the TKO. It’s confirmed afterwards Glover will get the next shot at the UFC light heavyweight championship.



THURSDAY 5th

Less than 24 hours after his victory, Glover enjoys his first day off in months by strolling through the markets of Belo Horizonte, and finding a way to blow his own trumpet.
