Being the son of a legend, and a legitimate future lightweight contender, doesn’t mean you’re not above the odd freebie or two…
Strikeforce Kitbag
“I have a Strikeforce bag for my kit. They give them out during all the events, so I keep all my stuff in that. It can hold pretty much all the gear I need to take to the gym with me.”
Extra Mouthpiece
“I always keep an extra mouthpiece with me as you’ll never know when you may need one. You never want to lose a tooth if you don’t have to (laughs).”
Brooks Running Shoes
“I just bought a pair of Brooks running shoes. I don’t really know much about them, besides from the fact they were cheap and they’re comfortable (laughs).”
Everlast Gloves
“Everlast hooked me up with some really good gear. They gave me these really awesome 16oz gloves that I use to spar in. I also keep the Fairtex Strikeforce gloves with me for little glove training, just so I don’t feel weird using them when I fight.”
Coconut Water
“Typically, I just drink water. I’ve got a big, ugly Xtreme Couture water bottle that I’ve had for several years that goes with me everywhere. Occasionally, like today, I may have some coconut water with me too, if I remember to take it from the house.”
Nixon Headphones and iPhone
“If I’m on the treadmill, then I’ll put my headphones on and listen to music. I usually have my iPhone handy so I just plug in and go. I’ve got some nice Nixon in-ear headphones that have done me well for the last couple of years.”
Everlast Shin guards
“I also use Everlast shin guards. They protect me quite a bit when I’m sparring as they’re kickboxing-style shinpads. You never want to get injured, especially when you’re training. Also, the price must’ve been right as Everlast hooked me up with them. I haven’t used a ton of different ones, but out of the ones I’ve used, these are the best.”
