In what is quickly turning into one of the most anticipated events of the year, the 2011 Fighters Only World MMA Awards adds even more fuel to the fire of anticipation by announcing the most outspoken man in mixed martial arts will take center stage at this year’s ceremony, taking the starring role as lead host.

Never one to be left for words, or opinion, Chael Sonnen takes over the reigns from last year’s lead host, Randy Couture, to join beautiful co-host Molly Qerim on the stage at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas on Wednesday November 30th.

Known for his quick wit and penchant for the controversial, the UFC middleweight contender is destined to be the most outrageous host in the history of the awards, which brings together the very best of mixed martial arts for an evening of celebration.

Now in its fourth year, the 2011 World MMA Awards ceremony will crown yet another year of awe-inspiring, gravity-defying, non-stop fight action from the industry’s elite warriors and pay homage to the leading men and women that make it all possible. 

With no less than 22 awards up for grabs this year, tickets are a hot commodity between fans and industry insiders alike. However, should you not be able to make it to the show, fear not, as this year’s awards will be broadcast in prime-time slots across the East Coast and West Coasts of North America by the Fox Sports Network and then later re-aired by FUEL TV and FSN. 

The ceremony, sponsored once more by leading nutrition suppliers BodyBuilding.com this year in association with Gaspari Nutrition, will be viewed by millions of fans across the US, all watching their favorite MMA stars throw down their fight gloves and throw on their tuxedos, ready to sip champagne and party the night away.

From ‘Fighter of the Year’ to ‘Best Technical Equipment,’ Fighters Only’s World MMA Awards will again attract the who’s who of the world’s greatest sport. And you still have time to get in on the action, as fans can still vote for the fighters, figures and clothing brands that they believe take mixed martial arts to the next level until November 23rd.
