Couple marry in UFC 129 Octagon
A Canadian couple have proved the UFC Octagon is a place for love as much as pain by tying the knot in the UFC 129 cage. Justin and Deanna Peacock wed in the ring in front of family and friends at the massive Rogers Centre in Toronto just over 24 hours prior to the landmark event. The couple are passionate MMA fans who had their first date at UFC 97 in Montreal and secured the unique location for their nuptials by asking UFC president Dana White at a fan event if they could use the famous Octagon for their wedding.
Japan boss promises to replace dream
Akira Maeda, a former employee of struggling Dream parent company FEG, says if his old company folds he will reform his Rings promotion. Maeda told Tokyo Sports he wants to revitalize Japanese MMA by bringing back Rings, the successful organization he founded in the ‘90s and booked future stars such as Randy Couture, Fedor Emelianenko and Alistair Overeem. Maeda now runs The Outsider a rough-edged, low-key Japanese MMA promotion.
