The Fighter's
Q1 How would top Strikeforce welterweight contender Paul Daley fair against an in-form Nick Diaz?
Joe Soto
“That’s going to be an interesting fight. I guess I have to go with Nick for the Cesar Gracie team. I think he can out-technique Daley. Nick is more technical and smarter. Either way, it will be a great fight.”
Antonio Banuelos
“Nick Diaz wins. He’s my buddy, so I’ve got to go with him.”
David Loiseau
“That’s a tough call. They’re both very good at what they do. Whoever imposes their style and their will, probably wins.”
Q2 Who would you rather see Anderson Silva fight next: Georges St Pierre or Jon Jones?
Joe Soto
“I like both matchups, but I’ve known Jon for a long time. I was in college with him. I really want to see Jon vs Anderson. They’re both long fighters, and they’re both really talented, gifted and unique.”
Antonio Banuelos
“I’d love to watch him fight both of those guys. Those fights would both be awesome.”
David Loiseau
“Honestly, I don’t know. Jones would be good and ‘GSP’ would be good. I’m glad I’m not a matchmaker.”
Q3 Who do you think would win a fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St Pierre?
Joe Soto
“I think Anderson wins. He’s just so good on his feet, and I think he could defend a few takedowns. If ‘GSP’ can get a few takedowns, he might be able to grind him out, but Anderson just finds a way to win every time.”
Antonio Banuelos
“I don’t think I can even choose on that one. I would just want to sit back and watch the fireworks.”
David Loiseau
“Georges will definitely have a great strategy and a great game plan, and I think he’ll be able to apply it. But when you’re talking about guys like Georges, Anderson, José Aldo, you’re talking about top pound-for-pound guys. Anything can happen in a fight, but Georges will be ready.”
Q4 Have you ever eaten horse meat like Alistair Overeem?
Joe Soto
“No, but if it guaranteed to get me ripped like that, I might try it.”
Antonio Banuelos
“I’ve never eaten horsemeat, but I’ll try anything once.”
David Loiseau
“Horsemeat? Is that what he does? I’ve tried it, but I don’t like it. It tastes weird.”
Q5 What old-school martial arts hero would you most like to train with?
Joe Soto
“Probably Rickson Gracie. I’ve heard a lot of great things about him.”
Antonio Banuelos
“For me, I was a wrestler, so I’d want to train under Dan Gable.”
David Loiseau
“If I could choose between anybody, it would definitely be Bruce Lee.”
