A Great Weight Loss!
I just wanted to share with you guys my weight loss story. I was at one point 219lb. I had tried every workout tape and nothing was working. My husband is into MMA and when he was home on leave from Afghanistan he signed me up at Raleigh Institute of Martial Arts in Raleigh, NC. I am proud to say that I have lost 71lb and still going! I don’t only LOVE to watch MMA but now I LOVE being hands on. I have attached my before and after photos. Thank you MMA for changing my life!
Get the Facts Right
I was reading issue 15 again today and noticed a mistake. In the Fighter Facts column you featured Quinton Jackson – one of the facts was his neck is so big, which prevents him from being choked: “Many have tried but none have succeeded.” This is incorrect I thought, I know Sakuraba choked him in Pride. So I got out my Pride DVDs to confirm this and watched Pride 15. Sakuraba in fact DID choke Rampage for the victory. I then kept reading a few pages further, in the Dialogue section you featured Sakuraba. It says he submitted Rampage, although not specifically by choke. It is a fact that Sakuraba choked Rampage for a victory at Pride 15, which I believe was Quinton’s Pride debut.
Thanks Fighters Only, yours truly,

Thanks for your letter Clayton. The Fighter Facts says that nobody has ever submitted Jackson with “a strangle,” which most often refers to the act of putting an arm around the neck. Technically, as the submission Sakuraba has over Jackson was a triangle choke applied with the legs, it doesn’t fall into that category – but you’re right, Saku is the only man to tap Jackson with a choke of any kind.
Am I the only one pissed off about Junior Dos Santos having to fight Roy Nelson? I think Nelson has earned himself some top level competition and the fight they had scheduled was great. Kongo vs Nelson would have been sweet but injuries happen and I wish Cheick the best. What I don’t get is how a guy so clearly in title contention has to step down to take him on. Cain vs Junior is the only way to determine who gets the next shot. Since Cain gets dibs on the title shot if Carwin or Brock gets hurt it should just not be announced until after the fight. Nelson will be a good test and it will be a good fight but I just think he’s getting screwed.
Even if he wins and earns a title shot he still won’t get it because Cain will. Why can’t we see Mir or Gonzaga vs Nelson? Maybe even Nogueira – three guys that need to work back up the rankings but still higher up than Roy. Perfect matchups. What is Joe Silva thinking? Maybe he’s just ensuring that Cain is trained up to fight for the title if either guy gets hurt and if no one does they’ll pull this fight and set up the real one. But then Nelson and Dos Santos are getting screwed. Who knows? If Fighters Only could do some digging I’d really appreciate it.

Always have to purchase your mag! Shogun was at Starbucks, and he is the most humble and nicest guy ever. This was three days after beating Machida for the belt.
