The heavyweight division has always been one of the most fascinating attractions, and the last few months saw some truly memorable moments. As one heavyweight giant fell (the Russian with the near-mythical aura, Fedor Emelianenko, finally saw his nine-and-a-half-year win streak come to an end) another stood firm as a champion. Brock Lesnar returned from convalescence and overcame the toughest round of his career to submit Shane Carwin in a measured and mature display that confirms his position as the top heavyweight in MMA.
