150
During the stretch between UFC 101 and UFC 111 the promotion held 150 fights. A little math tells us that this means that only 1.3% of the promotion’s fights were for a belt. With all the injuries in the second half of 2009 and so few title fights, it’s no wonder the promotion did not maintain its momentum from the summer.

The UFC made up for the lack of title fights at 111 and 112. In a two-week period the promotion had four title fights across 31 matches. Interim heavyweight belt Shane Carwin vs Frank Mir, welterweights Georges St Pierre vs Dan Hardy, lightweights Frank Edgar vs BJ Penn, and middleweights Demian Maia vs Anderson Silva.
231
The number of days between UFC 101 on August 8, 2009 and UFC 111 on March 27, 2010. During that stretch the UFC only had two title fights, light heavyweights Mauricio Rua vs Lyoto Machida at UFC 104 and lightweights Diego Sanchez vs BJ Penn at UFC 107.

Number of times heavyweight Cain Velasquez was hit in his last two outings. At UFC 104 Ben Rothwell hit him seven times, and at UFC 110 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira hit him five times.
109
In the aforementioned fights, Velasquez connected 109 times. Rothwell ate 82 of Cain’s strikes while Big Nog was hit 27 times. Both fights resulted in TKO wins for the scary-good Velasquez.
481
As amazing as Cain’s numbers are, they’re par for the course. Over the five fights in which Compustrike has recorded his stats, he landed 481 strikes. His opponents have struck him just 63 times.
