The Next Big Thing In MMA Has Arrived...
Congratulations Ryan and Katherine on your bundle of joy, little Anderson Louis Richard Kelly. He certainly seems to be a little fighter after arriving so early!

Where’s Fedor?
I’ve been buying your publication for 12 months now, and so far I haven’t missed an issue. But I haven’t seen any sizeable piece on Fedor. Fedor is arguably one of the best fighters, if not the best, on the planet at the moment, but we don’t seem to hear too much about him in your, or any other, magazine. It’s been said before that the magazine is UFC heavy, which is fine because this is where the best fighters are, but you can’t ignore the fact that Fedor is a massive draw. Is the failure of a decent article down to Fedor’s accessibility, or are your hands tied by the UFC, as they obviously give you unlimited access to their stable of fighters? Is it that they don’t want you promoting a fighter who features for a rival organization and who they have tried, very publicly and without success, to sign for some time? I imagine an article like the recent ones you published with Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida (both of which were excellent by the way) would be more than welcome by most fans.
Scott Ashton, via email.
Thanks for your email Scott. We do make a point of featuring fighters from outside the UFC, including many fighters from Strikeforce, Dream and other major promotions. We’ll always listen to feedback from the readers, so maybe 2010 will be the year for a Fedor feature!
Decision not TKO!
I have to point out a mistake in your December 2009 issue (issue 10)! On page 19, in the Lowdown section, it is written: “699 days between Tim Sylvia’s TKO win over Brandon Vera at UFC 77...” I attended this event live, and also have it on DVD; Sylvia won by decision! This fight went the distance! Make sure to double check this stuff, I wish I was getting paid to write about MMA, at least double check your accuracy!
Evan Delsack, via email.
Well spotted Evan, we’ll hold our hands up to that one. For pointing that out to us, a Fighters Only / Tapout T-shirt is winging its way to you now.
Dear FO Mag,
My daughter Ashley and I recently attended UFC 107. Ashley is seven and has been training in martial arts for three years. She is a huge Cheick Kongo fan and was delighted to meet him at the fighters’ hotel. On the morning of his fight, Ashley presented Cheick with a ‘thank you’ card for the signed shirt he had given her the day before. Cheick was such a gentleman, and actually invited us to breakfast with him (that’s Ashley heading to breakfast with Cheick in the photo)! It was an incredible weekend and a sign to everyone just how great MMA athletes conduct themselves outside of the Octagon.
