This is YOUR page to tell us what you think of all things Fighters Only and MMA! What do you like? What don’t you like? Who do you want to see fight who? Send us your pictures of you with fighters – and if you can slip a copy of FO into the pic.
Thank You Fighters Only!
Hello Fighters Only!
I would like to thank you for putting my ‘now’ husband (Sgt. Victor Reyes) in your magazine. He is home for his R&R from Afghanistan. It was awesome that I got to surprise him with Fighters Only magazine. I know this was the best gift he got for Xmas, and I have you guys to thank. I wanted to show him off some more, so I attached a video of him doing MMA with a buddy of his while in Afghanistan. Thank you so much, and our family loves Fighters Only magazine!
Lisa Reyes, Fort Bragg, NC
- Lisa, thanks for writing in once again. We’re happy Victor came home safe and sound from Afghanistan, and happy we could put a smile on his face! We’ll be in touch about sending some free gear for Victor – stay safe!
Wearing a gi?
Although not very practical at this level of MMA, is it still legal to wear a gi in the Octagon of the UFC?
Jonathan, via email
- Nope! Fighters must wear either trunks or board shorts. Gis, trousers, singlets or anything else are not permitted.
Plyometric Conditioning Training Please
Hi there,
I wrote in a previous e-mail that I hadn’t received the last issue. Never mind about that, I got it today! Sorry, I guess it was only a bit late. Thank you Fighters Only for your good support; I know I can always trust you guys! By the way, it would be nice with an article about how UFC fighters do their plyometric and conditioning training!
Oliver Hermansson, Sweden
- Hi Oliver, glad you managed to receive your magazine OK, all the way over there in Sweden! We know how popular MMA is in Scandinavia, and it’s nice to know fans like you are supporting the magazine. We have done articles on plyometrics before, but stay tuned and we’ll see if we can do some more in the near future.
Love Buffer 360!
Being a subscriber to your magazine, I was thinking you should have a story on Bruce Buffer. I attended UFC 100 and one of the greatest moments when I was there was the Buffer 360. When Bruce Buffer did it the crowd’s reaction was MMA history.
Anthony Lau, via email.
- Good thinking Anthony! We love Bruce and would love to include him in the magazine. In fact, we did just that in Issue 11 (Minotauro cover). Pick up a back issue to see a two-page feature on the Voice of the Octagon.
Wedding advice
Hey guys and gals!
As a Swedish subscriber of your magazine I feel I can ask you for some assistance, if possible, haha... I really don’t know where to turn for this, so I thought there might be a chance you guys can actually help out. I am going to marry my girlfriend of five years in 2010, and am planning to do so in Las Vegas. A dream come true would be to do just that at the same time as a Las Vegas UFC event, since I’m a huge fan of the sport in general and UFC in particular. Catching a live event is a dream come true for both me and the missus (though she does not know of these plans of course).
Thing is, this needs a lot of planning from my side and I have no idea how to find out when there are events to be held in Las Vegas this year. UFC 114 seems to be on the target for April, but beyond that I can’t really find any information. Is this anything you can help out with? Do you know what months in 2010 are targeted for UFC events in Las Vegas? The earlier I can find this out, the better, of course. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for a fantastic magazine as well.
K Philipson, via email.
- Our second Swedish letter this month! The UFC tend to release details of their events about eight weeks in advance, so we’re not sure how much planning you’re going to be able to do. Right now the weekend of May 29 is looking pretty likely to be the weekend of the second UFC Expo, and of course there will be an event as well. Good luck!

Hi Fighters Only,
I’m a massive Anderson Silva fan. It was quite funny for me to read that ‘The Spider’ himself is a fan of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Hardly surprising I know... My question is, do you know his online tag? I’d love to have a shoot off with him! Had I known that Anderson was online, I would have asked his manager Ed Soares myself, when I ran into him at an LA Galaxy game at the end of last year! Top, top guy!
I also met ‘Big’ John a week earlier in LAX airport – another top guy! Keep up the great work Fighters Only!
