At only 24 years of age and already in possession of two of the most impressive finishes in recent memory (including a 13 second KO in his UFC debut) Anthony looks set to shake things up in the fight game.
From rather unorthodox sources of nutrition to MP3 players, this month we take a look at just exactly what ‘Rumble’ keeps in his kitbag.
Boxing and MMA sparring gloves
When it comes to sparring gloves, Anthony knows what he likes. “I always use Everlast gloves and wraps. Everlast has always been the leading name in sparring gear. It’s been around from day one. It’s what I’ve always used. I find that their gloves have great durability and the quality is second to none”.
Leg Protection
Johnson’s love for Everlast fight gear is also evident when it comes to leg protection. “Again, it’s Everlast for me. Because of the high quality of their products, I’m pretty much head to toe in Everlast when it comes to sparring and fighting gear.”
Gumshield
While a lot of fighters go to the trouble of having custom mouthguards made by their own dentists, Johnson takes a more simplified approach. “In the past I’ve had a couple of places sponsor me to wear their mouthguards. The one I usually wear though, I think I got from Walmart for two dollars or something like that and it does me just fine!”
Supplements
“None at all. I don’t take any supplements or use any pills or anything like that. I train hard and eat healthy. However, I have to admit, when it comes to nutrition my favourite source is gummy bears! I eat them for nutrition. What can I say? They are too good; I love gummy bears!”
Clothing
“You can get Tapout clothing all over the world now. I also have a friend involved with Knoxx clothing. I really like their stuff too. They are getting involved with the whole urban scene too, which is really cool. When it comes to clothing it’s really just Tapout and Knoxx for me.”
Other items
Like a lot of other fighters, Johnson’s music collection always travels with him. “Aside from my MMA gear I always carry my Zune MP3 player around with me. It’s like an iPod only it’s so much better! I always have it with me. I always carry some photos too, to remind me of back home. They are a must for me.”

You’ll always see me in a Tapout shirt. It really is the best quality out there. They have been around since the beginning and they know the business. I like the guys there because they worked at building something and it paid off.”
