Things we hear, things we see, things we know.
Fedor is that good
For anyone doubting whether Fedor is legit or not, consider this: he did in 30 seconds what Randy Couture couldn’t in 25 minutes. Is the man inhuman? Very possibly. “Anyone who doesn’t think that guy is the baddest man on the planet is completely full of shit,” says ‘Big’ John McCarthy. We’re inclined to agree.
Rampage is in a bad way
Seemingly suffering from an epic meltdown of Britney Spears’s proportions, former light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson is in a bad way. Arrested after a five-minute chase in LA where Rampage crashed his truck into numerous cars, he wasn’t charged due to being ‘medically unfit’. Twenty four hours later and he was in hospital undergoing psychiatric evaluation. “It’s not good right now. I think it’s going to be a while before we get him back. It’s a sensitive issue,” said Dana White. “He was up for four days, drinking water and energy drinks, that was it. It’s not good. Rampage doesn’t do drugs. Rampage really doesn’t even drink. This whole thing made no sense to me.” Us neither. All we can say is “get well soon Rampage.”
Anderson Silva is a kind fighter
After ploughing through James Irvin in only 61 seconds in his light heavyweight debut, Anderson Silva reached out to his opponent after the event in a display of real class and sportsmanship. “I’m just there to do my job and the biggest shame of the whole thing is that he was hurt. It looked like he got hurt and I’m bummed about that,” the lanky Brazilian said. Is it even possible to not like this guy?
Freddie Roach working with Arlovski
As a fan of MMA, you may be asking, “Who’s Freddie Roach?” He’s one of boxing’s foremost trainers and has worked with the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao and many more. His latest charge is none other than former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski. Of the Belorussian’s boxing, Roach had to say: “He does have great boxing skills and he has good hand speed. He’s boxing some world-class boxers in my gym and he’s done very well.” The work obviously paid off as Arlovski KO’d Ben Rothwell in stunning fashion.
We know how to pick them
Without blowing our own trumpets too much, we like to think we know the sport pretty well. If you ever doubted this, then take a look at the achievements of some of the fighters we’ve featured over the last few months. At first glance, you may ask, “Who the hell is he?” But when you look at what fighters such as Urijah Faber, Eddie Alvarez, Melvin Manhoef and Alistair Overeem have done, you have to admit that yeah, we know how to pick them.
