The latest British fighter to sign with the UFC, Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy is one of the country’s hottest rising young stars. A fearsome kickboxer with an ever-improving grappling game, Hardy began his career in at the deep end, taking fights against more experienced opposition.

This thirst for competition has seen him travel the globe, taking fights in Japan, Holland and the USA.  A stalwart of the UK show Cage Warriors, it has become something of a joke that fighters he has beaten go on to fight for the UFC. He grabbed the attention of EliteXC and the UFC, but his recent demolition of UFC vet Chad Reiner prompted the UFC’s brass to sign him up for their UK events. It is expected he will make his debut in the autumn, if not earlier. Interestingly, Dan splits his time between his home city of Nottingham and Los Angeles, where he trains with people such as Eddie Bravo and Mac Danzig.

Hair

Guessing what hairstyle... mohican to crazy tramlines and all sorts... Dan would come out with for his fights used to be something of a game for his followers, but in recent times he seems to have settled on the black and red mohican. Black and red are signature colours for Hardy. Can always be found in red shorts.

Tattoos

Appropriate for his nickname, the skull and crossbones is something of a logo for ‘The Outlaw’. He has matching skulls tattooed on his shins, with another tattooed on the inside of his lower lip. The lotus flower on his stomach is an indicator of Dan’s spiritual side, but it’s a side that gets left behind when he enters the ring. This fighter is all about business when that cage door closes.

Legs

Owner of one of the most devastating pair of legs in UK MMA, Dan doesn’t just put his opponent’s hopes to rest: he breaks arms along the way. With a background in traditional martial arts stretching back to his childhood, Dan has managed to combine the quick, flashy high kicks of kung fu and tae kwon do with the power of Muay Thai, thanks in part to his kickboxing trainer Owen Comrie.
