The Arizona native has an eye for the fashionable, whether he’s donning a graphic t-shirt or an Italian suit – just as long as it’s comfortable.
Preferred clothing style
“I always try to look my best, no matter what situation I’m in, but I want to be comfortable as well. I like the fact that the current style has really allowed people to look nice, even in jeans and T-shirts. I’m a big fan of the more artistic graphic tees, anything from Jedidiah, Sullen, Renegade, Graffight, SRH, MMA ADX, Born Stronger, or One More Round.”
Most amount of money spent on clothing
“I’ve spent $3,500 on an Armani suit, although I don’t get to wear it as often as I’d like. I’ll routinely spend $500 on jeans, since they’re such a big part of my wardrobe. A couple of great pairs of jeans are an essential, so I don’t mind spending a little extra on them.”
Footwork
“I like sneakers mostly. I have a few nice pairs from Kenneth Cole, Lacoste, Puma, but of course my favorite are my old standby, the Converse Chuck Taylor – those really are a timeless shoe. It’s hard to find any casual clothing that they don’t go with. Other than that, I usually just wear flip-flops. It’s really hot in Arizona so these are something that you have to have.”
When traveling,I always take with me…
“I cannot go anywhere without my True Religion or Tokyo 5 jeans, they’re a must-have for me. I really like the V-neck T-shirts from Tommy John also, so those are usually in my bag when I travel.”
I never leave the house without…
“My white Von Zipper sunglasses, I absolutely cannot live without them.”
When I take my girlfriend out…
“We’ll have a nice dinner with friends, or alone, maybe a cocktail afterwards. Most of the time we’re on the couch, watching TV and relaxing. Since traveling and training have become more than a 9-5 job for me the free time that I have is important, so I like to spend it focused on her and my family.”
When I go out with the boys we’ll …
“Lately I’ve been traveling quite a bit, so it’s different wherever I go. I hang out a lot with my buddies. We’ll go out and have an occasional cocktail, but with my training, those days are few and far between. I mostly hang out with my younger brother Lee. He and I are very close.”
When I’m out, I’ll drink…
“I usually try not to drink. But if I do, I’ll have a Bacardi and Coke. Other than that, I mostly stick to Bud Light.”
