Clay: Carpenter, Caveman, Fisherman, Charity Worker?   

When fighters suffer a loss, they usually retreat into themselves for a short while before dusting themselves off and getting back in the gym. Clay Guida decided to go on a fishing trip with his buddies shortly before heading out to Hawaii for some rest and relaxation. Our boys at FO Germany interviewed Clay while he was fishing, and he mentioned that they were giving whatever they caught to the homeless. Wow. Just wow.  

Brock Lesnar’s got a big mouth

He’s a self-described simple farmboy from Minnesota, but boy does he know how to work a crowd. Playing up to his bad guy persona, Lesnar encouraged the boos that came at him from the audience following his ferocious beatdown of Frank Mir, but the real fireworks came in his post-fight interview. Lesnar proceeded to rip into the UFC’s main sponsor before telling everyone he was going to go home and “get on top of” his wife. No surprise that this led to a stern talking-to from Dana White back in the locker room.  

GSP: The Greatest?  

St Pierre’s classy and dominating performance against Thiago Alves was made all the more impressive upon the news that he had torn his groin in the third round. If there was any doubt, this certainly cements St Pierre’s status as one of the best athletes to have ever stepped into the Octagon.  

First female referee in the UFC

It is commonly held that the best referees are invisible – you wouldn’t even know that they’re there until they’re required to jump in and stop the fight. Few people realized that the UFC used a female referee for the first time on June 20, 2009, when Kim Winslow officiated two fights at The Ultimate Fighter 9 finale.
