Things we hear, things we see, things we know.

Nick Diaz doesn’t like MMA T-shirts

When you sponsor a fighter, don’t expect to buy their loyalty. In the case of Nick Diaz, his body is nothing more than real estate, something you pay to rent for a brief period. Diaz obviously isn’t a fan of MMA clothing, as moments after his win over Frank Shamrock he was caught on video backstage saying to one of his cornermen, “Can I take this off? It looks like shit anyway.”

Chuck is done

It’s a sad day when it comes, but it happens to every fighter. It’s time for Liddell to hang up the gloves. If the second KO loss in a row wasn’t enough to seal the deal, Dana White’s concern for Chuck’s health is the final nail in the coffin of the Iceman’s career. White has made it clear he won’t have him fight in the UFC again, and as Liddell is under contract and unable to compete for another MMA organization, his options have dwindled to zero. As sad as it is to say, Chuck is done.

Greg Jackson: ‘Ghost Hunter’

Top MMA coach Greg Jackson doesn’t really fit any of the stereotypes mixed martial artists are subject to. He is, in his own words, a “huge nerd”, but it wasn’t until a recent interview where he revealed his love of ghost towns did we find out quite how huge a nerd he is! “In New Mexico there are these old towns that are just abandoned. I like to track them down, research them. I go find the old maps and then just drive and try to find these old towns.” Awesome.

Dana honored by the armed forces

Dana White has spearheaded the UFC’s efforts in helping the armed forces. He has sent fighters to visit troops on active service in the Middle East, promoted shows on army and air force bases and more. As such, he was the recipient of a well-deserved Armed Forces Foundation Humanitarian Award, honoring the ongoing support the UFC has shown servicemen.
