Q. How important is it for you to represent Hawaii when you compete?
A. Being able to represent Hawaii is more important than any of the titles I've ever won!
Q. What did you take away from your experience on TUF?
A. How to be a better coach.
Q. Would you do the show again?
A. Only if there was a great coach on the other side.
Q. What do you think are Joe Stevenson's strengths and weaknesses as a fighter?
A. He's well rounded; I'm just going to have to beat him down.
Q. Coming from Hawaii, are you looking forward to a cold, rainy English winter?
A. With the RVCA [BJ’s sponsor] winter gear I should be fine and dandy!
Q. You've talked about the importance of making training fun – what difference has that made to your workouts and preparation?
A. I've brought a lot more people in that I can joke around with when I'm working out.
Q. What has been your proudest moment in the sport?
A. Winning the welterweight title.
Q. What do you like to do to relax outside of MMA?
A. Go to the beach, the karaoke bars, family parties, visit old friends, anything fun!
Q. Which fighters do you like to watch?
A. I'm a big fan of all MMA fighters. I like to watch and learn from everyone.
Q. What are your hopes, in and out of the octagon, for 2008?
A. Lightweight champ, Hawaiian Sovereignty, welterweight champ, Hawaiian Unity, and my book making the New York Times bestseller list. That’s not too much to ask is it?
