Things we hear, things we see, things we know.

Mousasi: The next big thing?

Gegard Mousasi isn’t the most well-known name in MMA, but he is definitely one to watch. The 23-year-old Armenian all-rounder fights out of Golden Glory in Holland, and has a record of 28-2-1. He fought most of his career at middleweight, but is moving up and plans on eventually becoming a heavyweight. A training partner of Fedor Emelianenko, Mousasi blasted the tough Mark Hunt in his last fight and looks set to appear on the upcoming Affliction show. At this rate, he could be a good bet for Breakthrough Fighter of the Year in this year’s World MMA Awards.

Kimbo on The Ultimate Fighter!

You could never accuse Dana White of being Kevin ‘Kimbo Slice’ Ferguson’s biggest fan. White had called him a “bum” and “a joke” in the past, but now the two will meet face-to-face as Slice joins the list of heavyweight contestants on the tenth series of The Ultimate Fighter. White said that things “should be interesting, given some of the things I’ve said about him”. Slice will be coached by either Rampage Jackson or Rashad Evans, who will head up the opposing teams. The rumor is that the combined weight of the 16 heavyweights will come to over 4000lb! Better reinforce that Octagon, Dana.

Carano returns to the cage

Fan favorite Gina Carano will finally return to the cage. The fighter, American Gladiator and all-round hottie will be squaring off with the fearsome Cris Cyborg, possibly the most ferocious female fighter on the planet. Carano hasn’t fought since last October, while Cyborg bashed up Hitomi Akano in April. This promises to be explosive.

UFC 2009 Undisputed flies off the shelves

The success of the launch of UFC 2009 Undisputed has taken everyone by surprise. Selling over three quarters of a million copies in the first three days it was on sale, it is the fastest selling gamer in developer THQ’s history. “We worked so hard on that game but you never can predict how it will launch,” said Dana White. “We knew when we got together with THQ we wanted to make the best fighting video game ever and that’s what we

tried to do.”
