Is Mark Hunt Berlin-bound?

Veteran heavyweight contender Mark Hunt is rumoured to be destined for Berlin in May when the UFC makes its return to Germany. UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta announced the Octagon would end a three-year German hiatus and go back on May 31st for the first time since two visits in 2009 and 2010, with former Pride star Hunt apparently being lined up to feature.

Ex-Disney star Jonas brother to play lead in MMA TV drama

Nick Jonas, a member of the Disney-produced music group Jonas Brothers, has been cast as the protagonist in a new family TV drama based around MMA and the UFC. Jonas will play a young fighter who earns a UFC contract in US show Navy St., also the name of the California gym Jonas’ character trains out of. The 10-episode series is due to hit US screens in the autumn.

Ashton Kutcher is a BJJ blue belt

It’s been confirmed Two and a Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher is now a two-stripe blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the famous Rigan Machado. Kutcher, who’s also known for his roles on sitcom That ‘70s Show and in the movie Dude Where’s My Car?, has been spotted several times at Machado’s Beverly Hills gym of late, and recently rolled with UFC featherweight Cub Swanson.

UFC readying trio of new TUF shows

The UFC is considering commissioning several regional EMEA versions of its hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter. A United Kingdom version is being mooted, either involving only English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish fighters, or having UK competitors square off with Irish cast members. A special Nordic version is being pitched also, featuring Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish hopefuls, while an Arabic TUF could even be in the pipeline too.
