The force of a Nick Diaz left shudders through the Stockton challenger’s forearm and into the face of UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre. It would be one of the few times pressure fighter Diaz could connect cleanly with the immaculate French-Canadian title holder en route to a unanimous decision loss, in the main event of UFC 158 in Montreal, Canada. The culmination of years of trash talk and of mountains of marketing money, it was a compelling battle (both on the ground and on the feet) between two of the very best and most dominant welterweights of the present day. St Pierre was clearly the victor, but to finally see he and Diaz clash was a boon for all.
