UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson avoids the punches of challenger Nate Diaz in a somewhat unorthodox manner at UFC on Fox 5 in December. But the splits (performed here defending Diaz leg locks) weren’t the only instance of athleticism on Benson’s part.
The bigger, stronger, more explosive 155lb’er, Henderson used his physical attributes to stifle Diaz’s long-range striking and tricky ground game throughout the main event’s 25 minutes. And it was more than good enough for a decision win, ‘Smooth’ taking 50-43 and 50-45 twice on the judges’ scorecards.
