The double leg take down is the most used takedown in Ultimate Fighting. It is used by many wrestlers to avoid conflict standing. The Machine demonstrates how to defend from a striking opponent.
MOVE ONE Stand facing opponent in a fighting stance.
MOVE TWO When your opponent strikes, shoot down on to your front knee, grabbing the back of your opponent’s knees. Make sure your head is on the front of your opponent’s hip so that you do not get guillotined.
MOVE THREE Bring your back leg to the outside of your opponent’s body.
MOVE FOUR While pushing with your outside leg and with your head, pull in the opposite direction with your arms, lifting your opponent.
MOVE FIVE When opponent is up in the air, try to clear his legs so you end up in side control and not his guard.
MOVE SIX You’re now in the side control position. Secure this move with an underhook to your opponent’s shoulder as shown.
