The clinch takedown is favoured by The Machine. Here he demonstrates how superior the clinch is. This takedown can then lead on to Ground ‘n’ Pound from the guard.
MOVE ONE Stand facing your opponent in a fighting stance.
MOVE TWO Strike your opponent to put him off guard while you close the distance.
MOVE THREE Secure your grip with a double under hook and clasp palms together as shown.
MOVE FOUR Whichever side you have your own head, outerhook your opponent’s opposite leg. This distributes your weight evenly so you don’t get reversed.
MOVE FIVE Pull your opponent’s hips into you while pushing his chest backwards with your head. Outer hooking his leg finalises the takedown.
MOVE SIX You’re now in the guard possesion of your opponent, ready to use The Machine’s Ground ‘n’ Pound.
