Issue 010

December 2005

Well here we are again, Christmas is upon us and may I take this opportunity to wish all of you, our readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let’s hope that the sport we know and love grows at such a rate next year as it has this year. If we have anything to do with it there will be no stopping its growth. But then not just Fighters Only, but other major players within the UK Mixed Martial Arts scene have to be given credit for there continued effort and commitment to the sport.

This year has seen promotions like Cage Rage and Cagewarriors shine with not only unbelievable cards, but also fantastic attendances. Fighters in this country have evolved with some fantastic athletes emerging as well as some great personalities, also TV production companies have started to show their allegiance. All in all the future looks bright but we want to thank no one more so than you, the loyal fans who without you none of the aforementioned would be possible.

In this issue, the final of 2005 we have the usual treats. Cagewarriors review by Hywel Teague will try to do justice to the success that was the Night of Champions. What a turn out and what a night. Hywel also finalises his ‘Evolution of Mixed Martial Arts’ series with the final Chapter of Vale Tudo. For those of you who don’t know, ‘Vale Tudo’ means roughly ‘Anything goes’, ah yes, it was a simpler time! We have the latest news and review from the Pride Fighting Championships, a fighter profile of Frank Shamrock news and product reviews, interviews with Brad Pickett as well as the next installment of Nutritional advice and training tips.

This month also sees a free pullout 2006 Calender containing all your favorite fighters plus one bit of totty. Moose is back again, insulting as ever and a little pissed off that no one has sent him a letter. Come, get off your arses and write in. It’s only a bit of crack and you can write about anything you want, as long as it doesn’t upset me!

Remember, Train Hard and Fight Easy.
