You’ll definitely need both arms to finish this and counteract the strength of your opponent’s leg

Purple Belt

With your arms occupied, it’s vital to sit back to the side so your opponent can’t attack your unguarded face.

Black Belt

Ricky says many high-level grapplers are still not as proficient with leg locks, so some black belts are defenseless and you can take advantage.  



1 Ricky begins with top position in half guard 



2 Frank bases out and steals an underhook. 



3 Ricky posts on his right hand and takes a back step with his left leg over Frank’s left leg.



4 As Ricky pivots and starts to sit down to the mat, he catches Frank’s left heel with his left hand. 



5 Looking from the reverse angle, Ricky sits to the side, then pinches his knees together and crosses his feet to take control of the leg.



6 Ricky reaches over Frank’s foot with his right arm and clutches it to his body, then hyperextends the knee by arching his hips.
