Liverpool welterweight Darren Till hit a crossroad in his UFC career after suffering two consecutive losses.

Till was submitted by then-UFC champion Tyron Woodley when fighting for the belt in 2018, before being finished by the surging Jorge Masvidal in London earlier this year – the only losses Till has endured to date.

There has been plenty of talk about Till and what division he will be fighting in ahead of his return to the cage.

Till has hinted at a move up to middleweight, but some still see him fighting at the 170-pound welterweight limit.

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping said welterweight Robbie Lawler, who is coming off a recent defeat to Colby Covington, would be the perfect opponent for Till’s return to the Octagon on his podcast Believe You Me.

And Till is very much interested in a showdown with former UFC welterweight champion Lawler.

“That’s a great fight,” Till said on the Eurobash podcast with MMA Fighting’s Peter Carroll. “I called Robbie out not so long ago and he’s a childhood hero; I grew up watching him. That would be spectacular. It really would.”

On the podcast, Till also confirmed that he is seeking to set foot in the Octagon before the year is out.

“One hundred million percent, [I’ll fight] before Christmas.

“I’m ready to go right now one hundred percent [I’ll be back] before Christmas.”
