Khabib Nurmagomedov submits Conor McGregor in fourth round

We’ll keep this very brief.

Khabib Nurmagomedov dominated the vast majority of the fight with multiple takedowns and even a brief knockdown.

Towards the end of the fourth round, Nurmagomedov took McGregor down and immediately secured his back, before sliding his arm across for a painful neck crank to force the submission from his Irish foe.

Nurmagomedov shamefully left the submission on longer than needed, but that’s not the worst that happened on Saturday night.

Shortly after his victory, Nurmagomedov vaulted the cage to attack McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis in the crowd. A mass brawl ensued.

Then, members of Nurmagomedov’s entourage stormed the cage and attacked McGregor unprovoked.

The scene was such a mess, both McGregor and Nurmagomedov were escorted out of the arena without any formal result announcement or belt presentation.

Shocking scenes.

Tony Ferguson emerges victorious over Anthony Pettis in two-round war

What a fight. Tony Ferguson won a war for the ages as both he and opponent Anthony Pettis threw the kitchen sink at each other for 10 minutes.

Both masked in blood, Ferguson looked to have the better of the first round while Pettis rallied to score multiple knockdowns against the durable “El Cucuy.”

Ferguson then battled back himself, pinning Pettis against the cage with his brand of relentless pressure, pouring on a variety of strikes to see off the second round.

Bloodied, the pair looked set to resume their war for the third and final round. However, it transpired that Pettis had broken his right hand amidst that second-round madness, and coach Duke Roufus would not allow his longtime student to go out in the third round hampered by injury.

Ferguson won the fight by TKO (corner stoppage) and broke down in tears at the news – we’re assuming tears of happiness.

With this win, Ferguson is surely in line to fight for the UFC lightweight title next.

Dominick Reyes bloodies Ovince Saint Preux over three rounds, passes first big test with flying colours

Dominick Reyes moved to a spotless 10-0 record after defeating Ovince Saint Preux on Saturday night.

OSP was considered Reyes’ first true test in the upper echelons of the UFC light heavyweight division.

Reyes passed this test with consummate ease, dominating all three rounds.

The 28-year-old had OSP’s number throughout, outstriking the Haitian-American in all departments and punctuated the fight with a huge knockdown to cement his unanimous decision victory.

Big win for Reyes as he looks to ascend the UFC light heavyweight rankings.

Behind on the scorecards, Derrick Lewis knocks out Alexander Volkov with seconds left

What is there to say about Derrick Lewis? The man truly defies all fighting logic.

Towering Russian Alexander Volkov had Lewis hurt on multiple occasions, but Lewis kept swinging – and landing – to do just enough to keep his opponent at bay.

After dominating two rounds and the vast majority of the third, Volkov was seemingly coasting towards a comfortable unanimous decision victory against an exhausten-looking Lewis.

But Lewis, as he often does, uncorked a massive right hand from out of nowhere to flatten Volkov. And with just 11 seconds remaining, Lewis finished Volkov off with some thunderous ground and pound to snatch an unexpected victory.

Crazy win for one of the most entertaining men inside and outside the Octagon. Could a title fight be on the horizon for Derrick Lewis?
