Fight week is finally upon us for the final UFC PPV card of the year with UFC 310 taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
As always, the Countdown episode gives fight fans a closer look at the men who will be headlining the card with three marquee match-ups getting the preview treatment.
Arguably the most interesting section of the preview is the movie trailer-like introduction to Kai Asakura who will challenge for the flyweight title in his Octagon debut.
There's tons of information about him here including how he put together his team and the unbelievable footage of the street fight he had with his brother which got him into MMA.
His opponent, the defending champion Alexandre Pantoja, gets a full recap of his run in the promotion with a specific focus on the father-figure relationship he has developed with Marcos "Parrumpa" DaMatta since he made the decision to join American Top Team.
In the co-main event, former training partners at Kill Cliff FC meet as Ian Machado Garry faces Shavkat Rakhmonov in a title eliminator.
There's training footage of the two undefeated welterweights as both men talk about their previous encounters with one another.
Garry also details his global expedition to find the best training possible, explaining how a conversation with Gilbert Burns at Kill Cliff inspired him to get as many looks as possible which has led to him training in Brazil and Thailand in recent times.
The heavyweight rematch between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov also gets some spotlight with Gane's loss to Jon Jones and Volkov's final hurdle failings going under the microscope before fight night gets underway in a matter of days.
