With UFC bantamweight Pedro Munhoz, Kenny Johnson, coach of more than a dozen MMA champions, shows how to use a vise-like grip to throw your opponent over your head.
- Kenny has Pedro in a tight front headlock to control his body and stop any potential takedowns.
- Kenny pushes his hips inwards and bends his knees, taking away any space between him and Pedro.
- Kenny raises his clasped hands towards Pedro’s armpit, twisting his head into an awkward position, then drops to his back.
- As he drops and lands, Kenny flips Pedro over him and onto his back.
- As soon as Pedro lands on his back, Kenny pushes off the mat with his feet to roll back over his shoulder.
- Kenny lands on his knees in side control where he can advance position or go for a submission.
