Earlier today, the UFC announced Jimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz will be squaring off against each other for a second time at UFC London.
The rematch will take place at London’s O2 Arena on 17 March.
“Posterboy” Manuwa won a decision over former KSW light heavyweight champion Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night 64 in Krakow, Poland, less than three years ago.
Manuwa recently posted online how Brazilian rivals Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Glover Teixeira had rejected fights with the Londoner.
Manuwa’s last UFC outing saw him lose to UFC 220 title challenger Volkan Oezdemir inside a minute by knockout.
Meanwhile, Blachowicz has enjoyed a return to form inside the Octagon and is riding a two-fight win streak. The Polish light heavyweight defeated Jared Cannonier in a unanimous decision in December.
This isn’t the fight to earn a title shot for either man, but it’s certainly a springboard for better things.
European fight fans will watch on with interest as two of the continent’s best exports do battle once again.
Tickets to UFC FIGHT NIGHT® LONDON go on general sale on Friday, February 2 at 10 a.m. GMT via AXS and Ticketmaster.
