Greg Jackson is the most sought-after trainer in MMA. His New Mexico gym has boasted a UFC win-rate of over 80%. Here he teaches you how to perform a perfect arm triangle from mount.
ARM TRIANGLE FROM MOUNT
1: Greg is in the mount position utilizing strikes to open up the opportunity for a submission.
2: Julie covers up to protect herself. Seeing the opportunity for an arm triangle, Greg slips his left hand beside Julie’s head on his left-hand side and pushes her left elbow up toward her face with his right hand.
3: Greg continues to apply pressure to Julie’s left arm by reinforcing his right hand with his shoulder and neck, and quickly slips his left forearm underneath Julie’s neck.
4: With the pressure firm, Greg places his left hand on top of his right biceps and places his right hand on top of his head, locking the hold.
5: To finish the submission, Greg heads to side control on the same side as the hold. Leaning forward and lifting his left leg over Julie’s body, he first stops in knee ride…
6: And then moves the left leg completely around into full side control, flattening his hips to the ground and finishing the submission by rolling his shoulders back and pushing his chest out.
