A new training tool on the sports science scene could make leading coaches like Greg Jackson and Firas Zahabi a thing of the past.

The MotivePro, a kind of vibrating suit, has been created by professors at Birmingham University in the UK to help users remember correct physical positioning when doing anything from lifting boxes to performing complex gymnastic movements.

Such a device could prove extremely useful for fighters trying to perfect their striking and grappling techniques. Professor Sporton explains: “The suit is designed to give wearers feedback about where their body is in space. It does this by focusing on key points in the body, taking relative measurements between them to check the user's position.”

The MotivePro then vibrates whenever the user moves in a way which is not optimal for that specific movement.

With health and fitness advancing at this rate Greg Jackson’s going to be dropping his World MMA Awards ‘Coach of the Year’ trophies to a Skynet-style coaching droid in no time.
