Catch your opponent off guard with a rare fight-ending calf slicer.
Ricky Lundell with Frank Mir: The BJJ black belt and NCAA Division I wrestling prodigy presents his MMA leglock masterclass.
1 - Ricky grabs an underhook under Frank’s left shoulder with his left arm.
2 - Stepping around the body, Ricky puts his right leg through Frank’s legs, across the back of his right thigh and over the back of his calf to get a double hook.
3 - With his right hand, Ricky reaches under Frank’s left thigh with his right arm and grabs Frank’s right shin.
4 - Ricky reinforces his grip by using both hands and falls to his back, rolling Frank over with him.
5 - Clears Frank’s left leg, Ricky catches Frank’s right foot with both hands. He wraps his left leg over the top of Frank’s right to bury Frank’s shin into the pit of his knee. He then pulls down on his toes and presses Frank’s calf onto his shin bone, forcing him to tap.
TOP TIPS:
WHITE BELT
- Crush your opponent’s calf with the edge of your shin to cause the most pain and make sure your opponent taps out..
PURPLE BELT
- You can catch your opponent off-guard with this move, as the last thing they’ll expect when you have their back is for you to attack their leg.
BLACK BELT
- Practice until you can pull this off in one, fluid movement, so your opponent has little chance to adjust and defend against it.
