Within the space of just a few weeks, two legends of Mixed Martial Arts both hung up their gloves. Both men were ambassadors for their respective nations and helped build the UFC within the UK and Brazil respectively. They fought each other on January 19, 2013 in a thrilling contest that unfortunately left Michael Bisping with an injury that would affect the rest of his career.

Despite suffering a detached retina in the fight, he would go on in true ‘British Bulldog’ spirit to win the middleweight World Championship by knocking out Luke Rockhold, a fight he took at very short notice. Vitor Belfort started his professional MMA career at 19 and achieved UFC World Champion status and the worthy nickname of The Phenom. Both men are without doubt future Hall of Fame candidates.
