TOP TIPS:
WHITE BELT
- Single-leg takedowns are useful from all areas – including from your knees to reverse position.
PURPLE BELT
- Threatening to stand up from the bottom can create openings. Your opponent will focus on keeping you down and could leave a limb out for you to grab.
BLACK BELT
- It’s important to grip your opponent’s sleeve in De la Riva guard to prevent them from clearing your hooks with their hand.
